  my sister and i who are disfellowshipped have a jw elder as a father.

  guess why mom and dad didn't tell us that our grandfather died a week ago?

  thanks watchtower for denying us our grandfather's funeral.

  Special Needs talk at our Hall tonite...

  talk was about appreciating jehovah's provisions, something like that.... the po gave the talk.

  apparently, after the last co visit, our congo got a letter from headquarters, informing us that our numbers are wayyyy down.

  several inactive publishers, several more irregular, poor meeting attendance, and our hourly average is less than the national average (8.3 compared to 9.9).

  In western lands (like the UK and US) I think they have some real trouble looming in terms of membership loyalty. Young people are drying up in the org and the ones that stay are not as loyal as those who where before them.
  
  It seems as though the general attitude within the congregation is that the 'young ones' treat being a JW in a very matter of fact way. It has no special meaning to them, so they don't put forth special effort for it. They may try really hard to get excited about it every once and a while, but its just a phase that comes and goes.
  
  In the next 30 years or so I think congregations in western lands are really going to scale back.

  often a person asks of ex-jws, "why the hate?

  it's possible that they've seen examples of how some can be opportunistic in their finding fault of people or groups.

  some people hate walmart.

  anonymously, i sent out about 100 emails this morning, about the nbc-news story.

  all to jw's from my contact list.

  i have not written any of these people for at least two years.

  Funny how that excuse doesnt cut it for Catholics isnt it Purps but for Dubs its perfectly fine.

  when you are part of such an exclusive group like the JWs being fair doesn't matter.
  
  As people we have a natural tendency to think we are always right. We accuse other of things that we ourselves either make excuses for or approve of. When moved into the real of the JW this tendency becomes a necessity for survival.

  currently, the story has only been rated "2.5 stars by 116 users.

  " the report will acquire greater longevity on the website if it manages to be ranked among the "most viewed," "top rated" or "most e-mailed" on the news site.

  hello i've been disfellowshipped for about three years, and no plans to go back to the matrix ( if u know what i mean ).

  but my mother, and brothers are still inside.

  any word of advice on how can i tell them the truth without them getting dissapointed?.

  They have to eventually come to that on their own. You can be there to guide them along the way, but there is not argument that will win them over. It's more about them 'giving up' the Witnesses than simply changing their mind with new evidence.
